VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT)

Introduction A   value-added tax   (VAT), known in some countries as a   goods and services tax   (GST), is a type of general   consumption tax   that is collected incrementally, based on the value added, at each stage of production and is usually implemented as a destination-based tax, where the tax rate is based on the location of the customer. VATs raise about a fifth of total tax revenues both worldwide and among the members of the   Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development   (OECD). As of 2014, 160 of the world's   approximately 193 countries   employ a VAT, including all OECD members except the United States. There are two main methods of calculating VAT: the credit-invoice or invoice-based method and the subtraction or accounts-based method. Using the credit-invoice method, sales transactions are taxed, with the customer informed of the VAT on the transaction, and businesses may receive a credit f

I am slowly thinking and trying to figure out something good to do in future, which means i am doing future planning...interesting hehe.... Pune pitch gets poor rating from ICC match referee

ICC match referee Chris Broad has given a "poor" rating to the pitch that was used in the first Test between India and Australia in Pune, where the game ended inside three days in favour of the visitors. The report has been forwarded to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which now has 14 days to respond, said the ICC in a statement. It was an unexpected result for the series-opener with Australia hammering India by 333 runs, ending the formidable hosts' 19-match unbeaten run. "Broad, in accordance with Clause 3 of the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, submitted his report to the ICC in which he expressed concern over the quality of the pitch," read the statement further. The BCCI's response will be reviewed by ICC's General Manager (Cricket), Geoff Allardice, and Ranjan Madugalle from the elite panel of ICC match referees. It is not the first time that an Indian pitch has attracted negative feedback from the match referee.

India cricketer Parvez Rasool has finally spoken over the chewing gum controversy and appealed trolls to keep cricketers away from politics The Jammu and Kashmir cricketer came under sharp criticism over social media for insulting the National Anthem during first T20 International between India and England in Kanpur, on January 26. Cricket fans were irked with the all-rounder after he was caught chewing gum on camera while the rest of the Indian Team and people in cricket stadium were standing in attention as the National Anthem was being played. Rasool was quoted by ETV as saying, "Let cricketers play cricket and don't involve them into politics unnecessarily. I try to keep my focus on the game and don't let these controversies affect me. It is already very difficult for cricketers from our region to make it into the national team and when these things happen it is very disheartening. One has to remain tough and should not give importance to such controversies.&q

Australians wary of Virat Kohli's comeback: Mitchell Starc

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc today, February 28, said his team is wary of a strong comeback by Indian skipper Virat Kohli, whose early dismissals were a major factor in the visitors' opening Test triumph here. Kohli could only managed scores of 0 and 13 in his two innings in the Pune Test where India plunged to a humiliating 333-run loss, their first against Australia at home in almost 13 years. Starc dismissed him in the first innings for a duck and it was a rare failure for the Indian captain who has struck four double hundreds in as many series. "He's a class player, we all know that. He's scored a mountain of runs already this year. We're going to have to be wary of that Virat comeback," Starc told reporters here. "We know Kohli is going to be another key wicket for the rest of the series. There's six more times we've got to get him out to really cement this series," he added. Before seeing the back of Kohli, Starc had dism

Vijay Hazare trophy: Kedar Jadhav scores century as Maharashtra beat Delhi

Skipper Kedar Jadhav led from the front with a blistering 113 as Maharashtra pounded a hapless Delhi by 195 runs in a Group B match to knock them out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, here today, February 28. After being invited to bat, Maharashtra treated the Delhi bowlers with disdain to put on board formidable 367 for eight and then shot out the rivals for a mere 172 inside 34 overs. It was not a great start for Maharashtra as seasoned Ashish Nehra removed Ruturaj Gaikwad (9) but Vijay Zol (35) and Naushad Shaikh (52) firmed up the innings with a 52-run stand. After Shaikh was undone by Nitish Rana, captain Jadhav came on the crease and took the Delhi attack by the scruff of its neck, making an 83-ball 113 that was laced with 11 fours and eight sixes. With keeper Nikhil Naik (63), Jadhav raised a quickfire 59-run stand for the fourth wicket before being dismissed by Pawan Negi. Delhi had a relatively better start with India discards Gautam Gambhir (53) and Shikhar Dhawan (24) putting

Reservations- A Curse to our Indian Society

I am writing this blog because as a citizen of India its my responsibility to raise issues which are eating our nation slowly, our nations roots are getting weak day by day..... One of the reason for slow growth rate of economy or bad impact on people is  RESERVATION which was established by our constitution makers for a period of time to lift the backward classes so that every citizen of India should be equal but the politicians are using this reservation as tool to win elections every time new promises, new schemes are offered in every elections to attract people.        RESERVATIONS  were made mandatory after independence and so our constitution provides fundamental rights to citizens regarding reservation for backward classes. "After independence, the reservation policy became more explicit and clear as it had support of Indian Constitution. The concept of SC, ST and OBC is required to be stated as these communities are the prime movers and beneficiaries of reservation

Food Wrapped In Newspapers Causes Slow Poisoning When Consumed, Know About It

The Pune Cantonment Board recently issued a public notice advising people to avoid eating food (especially fried) packed in newspapers from roadside vendors. Consuming food wrapped in newspapers and packing material can pose grievous health concerns, therefore it is essential you say NO to the fried items wrapped in newspapers. Last year, the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) put a ban on the use of newspapers for wrapping, packing, serving and storing of food items. To this effect, it directed commissioners of food safety of all States and Union territories to take necessary steps to ensure the same. However, there are about 10 million street vendors in India, most of whom belong to the unorganised sector. Regulating such a massive number of vendors is a challenging task; therefore it is vital that we regulate our individual food habits. We are slowly being poisoned due to consumption of old newspaper ink Printing ink contains harmful chemicals – dyes, al
